Fibromyalgia & Arthritis: Why I started this blog

I wanted to raise awareness by promoting information, to educate and offer resources, support and share my experience of Fibro, Athritis and other related conditions. To talk about therapies, meds and useful products and aids that have helped me cope with Fibromyalgia & Arthritis, Carpal Tunnel, Psoriasis and more.

On a more personal note, I feel that I have had Fibromyalgia for at least 8 years before it was diagnosed two years ago, Psoriatic Arthritis for nearly the same amount of time. It’s been a long and slow journey.

I thought it may help someone else out there who is newly diagnosed as well as long term sufferers (who perhaps remain umdiagnosed) to read about my personal experience of chronic illness and related conditions.

Overlapping Conditions
Once I was eventually diagnosed and found out what I was afflicted with, I set out about finding information to enable me to help myself.

I found the info out there to be patchy and I also found that there was and still is, scant info about related and overlapping conditions.

Overlapping conditions are ‘other’ conditions likely to be present or suffered from at the same time as Fibro and or Arthritis.

These include: Carpal Tunnel, Hormonal Imbalances, Endometriosis, Migraines, Psoriasis, CFS, ME, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
No, you are not going mad if you find that you are also suffering from one or more additional conditions from the list above!

It has taken me a good deal of research over a long time to find information about overlapping conditions and I am happy to share this with you, to save you the time.

I have included tips on coping with symptoms etc. as well as a related laugh or two (yes – you (and I) can still see the funny side of life.)

Please feel free to take a look around, share your own experiences, join in discussions, ask questions, comment and or get in touch.

I would love to hear from you – Your Humble Host and Fellow Sufferer – Hazy Dee.
